Behance - Artist research

I decided to follow a bunch of studios and illustrators ive been looking at on Behance that are all based in Warsaw. I want to build up some networks in the city, even if its just to make a creative friend, so that if I do ever move out there for an internship, I will have some people I can meet and potentially become friends with.
I like to be around creatives in the studio, I think I will feel the same out there.
Following their work also really inspires me to to fight for an intern out there.

Sending emails for potential Internships

After visiting Warsaw and feeling super inspired, I started to research as much as possible into potential design agency's that I could get an internship with. Edgar Bak studio seemed really fitting at first, because they are heavily design based, but also have illustrations worked into their designs. I think I could have learnt a lot about design here, however they replied saying the don't have anything yet, but maybe later in the year. I replied again asking for details of the three month intern but he said he wasn't sure as of yet, so I will keep this in mind and potentially email them when we graduate, perhaps with images of the final year show or something.
Not losing hope though, going to search for more potentials and email them.

Ryszard Kajzer - Feeling inspired

The simplicity and boldness of Kajzer's work really stands out to me, and fills me with inspiration.
He is another potential contact that I could email in the next coming weeks, however I am still hoping to hear back from the studio so might give it a few days.

By researching practitioners in Poland and the general aesthetic of polish design I am inspired to create more work, and its the first time Ive felt this kind of motivation to be the best I can be. Its really exciting.

Elevator pitch

I am a young creative whose main focus lies within the field of illustration. Solving communicative problems through the use of visual imagery is a vital aspect of my practice, and something I push through varied channels and aesthetics. My practice is diverse, as are the mediums I choose to work in. From digital to analogue methods of image making, such as screen and mono printing, I aspire to push boundaries and learn something new each step of the way.
Shining a light onto important issues within todays society is often at the heart of what I do, with a strong passion for making a difference through the use of visual imagery. Given that this is at the heart of my practice, documentary and reportage illustration helps me to align my values within the creative industry.
I believe that creativity has the ability to improve and touch the lives of others, which is where my strong interest in community based projects has come from.

Having a voice- trying to make people listen.

Inspired by Warsaw

During the 2 weeks off after the submission, my housemates and I visited Warsaw. For no particular reason, just because the flights were cheap. However, when we got there I completely fell in love with everything about it. There is design everywhere! And not just any design, its incredible. We crammed so much into the 4 days, but I am so eager to go back and discover more. I felt so inspired to create while I was there, and had so many ideas bouncing around my head. I would really love to learn more about Polish design, and so Im going to look for an internship there, or see if its possible to meet up with various illustrators to see how it works out there. I feel like this could be the start of something a lot bigger than intended for me.
