Sketchbook Development

This was the concept that I decided to go with after talking to Matt about my ideas. I knew I wanted to make a zine from day one. The idea of making zines really excites me and is something I want to do more of. I wanted to make everything I've learnt this year into a fun and visual booklet. I have learnt so so much, it was hard to pin point just 10. I selected the things I felt have benefitted me personally throughout the year, in my practice, my personal well being (impacts my professional side) and in general.

Ive stayed away from ink this year, mainly because I have never really used it and it scares me. Was getting sick of coloured pencils though and wanted to try something different. At first, it wasn't looking promising at all.

After a while I really started to enjoy using ink. Its messy and loose and gives you the option to explore line easily. Been thinking a lot about line lately, especially after the big heads interview with Marcus Oakley. Its beautiful how a think or a thin line can change the entire outcome of a piece. Lines can be expressive, courageous, delicate, intricate. Its crazy what a single line is capable of. Aim to be exploring this theory in the years to come.
