A few years ago a friend of mine set up a kickstarter campaign in order to raise money to open what is now the best coffee shop in North Wales.
When he started out his tea and coffee business, he worked from a small citroen van that allowed him to drive to different locations and set up shop. However, there are quite a few laws that make this pretty difficult, and very few places that allow one to do so.
Jon Hughes is one of the coolest guys I've ever met, and I think a lot of people think this. So when he set up his campaign to open a coffee shop along side the van, it wasn't long before he reached his target of £12,000. His idea was focused on the people of north Wales. It provided what was missing from the local area.
This is his tea and coffee house now.
Because Ive seen a kickstarter project work so successfully, I thought I would create one for our collective, just a mock-up obviously, but so that i can think about how i would approach the public professionally and in a way that encourages them to realise that our business would benefit them, whoever they are.
The best feature to his campaign for me was the video. I don't enjoy reading heaps, and usually I won't. So watching an informative, creative video about the whole thing was really helpful for me and I'm sure for others too. Theres a potential we could make one too, but for now i'll just write the campaign, in a short and catchy way.
Before you think this is our logo, it isn't. I just made this quickly so that I had something to work with. I like the idea, could be worked on depending on what the group think.
