The last business cards I made were just a quick put together job so that I had some ready for the Colours May Vary exhibition. But in taking a step back, and after going to the easter programme, I realised the importance of having a good business card.
Which is why I redesigned them, and have send off for them to be printed by moo. The most successful piece of work I have made to date is the print I put in to the our of order exhibition, with more sales than anything Ive ever made before. This is why I thought a business card with it on would attract more clients, and make me slightly more desirable to hire.
I really like the idea of a square business card, so that it goes with my square cv, and its also a little different which would again give the added element of being remembered a little more. The colours used on the back for TCNB match with the colours of the print, keeping a coherent aesthetic.
The business card is simple and to the point, with minimal information, but exactly what you would need to find my work and to contact me.
Much happier with this design, and I have 50 on the way in the post, which I can put into my CV envelope and send off to people when they arrive.
Ive been working with this colour palette quite a lot lately, and Im finding it helps make my practice have a certain aesthetic. Most of my work usually looks so varied, which I like, but this cements the fact that its me. It means I can continue to work in a number of styles, and keep playing to my hearts content, but still have an element that ties my work together.
Maybe this will continue into my future career, finding colour palettes that work with diverse styles. A colour palette a month maybe. Something to consider.
