Ive just researched internships with vice and found out that they offer 3 month paid interns, which is amazing. I really want to focus my portfolio towards this.
Immersive, investigative and uncomfortable journalism
This is their slogan, and something that really interests me, and something I can see myself doing in the future. It would help me focus on documentation within my work. My fmp will focus on documentary illustration, but then after this I want to document slightly more uncomfortable things so that when I come round to applying I have a breadth of interesting documentary illustrations and stories that would help boost my application. Living in London would be expensive, but my brother would probably let me stay with him if I was to ever get an intern. Im not really sure they hire many illustrators, but I want to give it a go at least. I will also make sure I get better at photography, and have this running along side my illustrations so as to strengthen my application.
