CV

Last year I made a CV to tick the boxes on the course. This year Im making a CV with the intention to send it out to people I want to work for or intern with.
I didn't want it to be your average CV, I wanted it to be as innovative as possible. Which is why I thought about it creatively.
I wanted a single piece of paper to be a CV and a print. When I played with this idea, I realised that it could also be the envelope. Sustainable thinking cap on.

I also wanted the idea to be easily transferred into screen print. So I could screen print the print side, and digitally print the cv so that the quality is at its best. The screen print element speaks on behalf on my practice, as I want potential employers to see that I can actually screen print, so that the CV speaks on behalf of itself in as many ways as possible.

Tests-

This one worked when folded into an envelope, but would look awful when folded out. After this test, I thought it best to think of a pattern instead of an illustration for this, and then I could enclose an illustration inside.

This was the next idea. However when it all folded up it didn't look amazing. So instead of leaving a space for the address I thought that could be stuck on with an easy peel off sticker and instead make the design into a repeat pattern.

My housemate on printed textiles showed me how to do this. Thankfully this worked much better. The single fold matches the other side.

It doesn't completely join when its folded into an envelope, but its much better than the previous ideas. This idea can easily be printed digitally and screen printed.
I made so many repeat patterns once I knew how. Its also good that I know how to do this, as I can tailor the design to the company to which I'm applying.

This is the one I want to work with for now. Would make a nice print on the wall and Ive made the aesthetic of the CV to match.

Im actually really pleased with this. It's not boring, and should hopefully make me stand out. It should show innovative thinking, and I guess some form of dedication to getting a job within  creative industries.
Im excited to print it. Fingers crossed it works.
