I bumped into Matt in the print room yesterday whilst I was printing my CV, and he gave me some really useful pointers and things to consider. There are now a few little things I want to tweak on the CV itself, which I will do tonight, as I want to do it before I apply for footprint.
He also pointed out that I am saying I am a documentary and reportage illustrator, but the image on the back doesn't speak this.
The idea of the back was that it could always be changed to suit the job that I was applying to, so Ive done a digital version of a recent documentary piece. This definitely shows that I can communicate something through visual imagery a lot more. I don't think I would fold this one up, and Im starting to think that the folding idea wasn't so great after all. If you are going to put a print on your wall, you don't want it to be all bent and folded.
The reason I did the leaves was because I knew it could be easily transferred into screen print, and there was the aspect of the repeat pattern too. At least now I have two versions, but to communicate that I work with documentary illustration, this one works much better.
